Early Childhood Education

The purpose of this major is to provide a sound academic program in child development and to prepare students to work with children and families in a variety of school and community settings.

Early Childhood Education students pursue careers in early care and education, early childhood program administration; parent education; elementary school teaching; community college teaching; or work with a variety of counseling, social service and community agencies The Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education for Transfer (AS-T) is intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child and Adolescent Development, Child, Human Development, Education, or a “similar” major at a CSU campus.

Students completing this AS-T degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not necessarily to a particular CSU campus or major of their choice.
