INTRODUCTION TO BIOTECHNOLOGY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
Prerequisites: None Class Hours: 3 lecture, 3 lab C-ID: BIOT 150X Examines the role of molecular biology in the manufacturing of commercial pharmaceutical and agricultural products. Introduces students to basic biotechnology laboratory skills, including documentation, safety, and solution and buffer preparation. Develops student proficiency in aseptic techniques, spectrophotometry, molecular biology techniques, and electrophoresis. (Formerly BIOL M11A.) (Same course as BIOT M10.) Applies to Associate Degree.
