FUNDAMENTALS OF IT ESSENTIALS

  • 4 units

Prerequisites: None Class Hours: 3 lecture, 3 lab Provides an in-depth introduction to computer hardware and operating systems. Covers the functionality of hardware and software components and best practices in maintenance, security, and safety. Teaches, through hands-on activities and labs, how to assemble and configure a computer, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. Includes concepts such as security, networking, and responsibilities of an information and communication technology professional. Prepares students for CompTIA's A+ certification, and Microsoft desktop certification. Applies to Associate Degree. Transfer credit: CSU
