ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING FUNDAMENTALS
Introduces analysis of electrical circuits using analytical techniques based on the application of circuit laws and network theorems. Studies direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) circuits containing resistors, capacitors, inductors, dependent sources, operational amplifiers, and switches. Investigates natural and forced responses of first and second order resistor-inductor-capacitor (RLC) circuits, use of phasors, AC power generation including power transfer and power factor correction calculations, and energy concepts. Prerequisites: PHYS M20B and MATH M35 or concurrent enrollment. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.
